Mummy and Me Session: Vikki & Amelie
I love all of the photos you took of me and Amelie 🙂 I just know they’re going to serve as the most wonderful reminder of our slowest days playing, colouring and spending together. – Vikki
A lot of parents ask me what they should do during our time together? They’re worried that the photos will appear boring, that there’s nothing going on. I think Vikki’s quote above sums it up. You don’t have to do anything apart from be yourselves. If you like to have a relaxed morning at home with your little lady painting, playing, reading snuggling on the sofa, then that’s all I need! I only want to capture that special bond between you as you spend those precious, precious moments together.
Because they’re gone in a heart beat.
Before you know it, they’re at PreSchool, then worryingly, Reception Class. And before you know it you’re waving them off for their first morning on the school bus to Middle School. It’s scary.
Those lazy mornings at home, where little ones are quite content doing nothing – they are to be cherished. The quiet moments where they’re a little bit tired and they just want to snuggle – they are PRICELESS.
The morning I spent with Vikki and Amelie last year to celebrate Mother’s Day – to some, you could say it was a bit plain. To me, it was magic. And to Vikki, I’m sure now, as you look back a year on, it was too. A year in a little person’s life is an eternity. They change so much. Their characters develop, evolve. Their outlook on the world widens. It’s frankly a miracle. And I know I harp on about it, but these photos are a gift. Because they capture a little moment between “Mummy and Me” that is so fleeting. I hope you still love your photos Vikki.
And to other Mummys out there. You need to be in the photos too. Make sure you capture these precious moments. Whether you chuck Hubby the phone to take a snap or book someone like me. Make sure you do it – because “you only borrow your children.”
