Newcastle Fun Urban Wedding | Rachael & Al

When Rachel and Al first contacted me and told me that I was a recommendation from Faye, I knew I was in for a treat. Organising an Urban Newcastle Wedding, in a venue, I to be honest hadn’t even heard of (The Secret Tower) I trawled the internet for photos of it and couldn’t really find anything. But the way they described it, I was giddy with excitement. For those who don’t know, The Secret Tower is the ultimate venue with minimalist sophistication and amazing views over the city of Newcastle. It’s simply stunning. The ceremony was just gorgeous with flowers by the amazing Hannah of Wildflower Florist in Ouseburn adding a stunning accent to the decor.

Following a cocktail or two overlooking the Tyne Bridge the party headed over to Summerhill Bowling Green for a marquee reception, enjoying Tex Mex street food at trestle tables. The marquee was lovingly decorated by Rachel and her metres upon metres of handmade bunting and more awesome flowers by Hannah hanging from the ceiling.

I knew Rachel and her pals were something else when the pillow case came out in the morning – In all the weddings I’ve shot, I’ve not seen this technique before to protect the Bridal barnet, but I can tell you we were mostly in stitches at that sight. But she then went on to win my heart by doing her own speech – a surprise to many. A girl after my own heart as I also did a speech at my own wedding. Us girls have something to say too so why not! And bless her, Rachel’s Mum also stood up, barefoot, for a few kind words too. Laughs and tears aplenty under the canvas roof.

I genuinely had an amazing time at your wedding guys. Your guests were just so much fun. And I honestly think it shows in the photos. I couldn’t make a shorter blog post. Your wedding was just brilliant and with such characters about, I couldn’t stop taking photos. I pray 2019 delivers more weddings like yours!

So – make sure you watch the video above, and then check out the stills below. Rachel & Al – thank you so, so much for sharing your day with me. It was a blast. xx

Words from Rachael:

“So we got our pictures yesterday morning….. I had to wait ALL DAY until Al got home from the match in Manchester so we could look through them together and drink a bottle of wedding champagne. So the minute he got through the door I was dying to open them!
We just can’t thank you enough they are absolutely out of this world amazing,Claire.
We both agree that you were the best decision we made when it came to planning our wedding. I have no idea how you managed to get every guest in at least one picture but you did! It was like there was to of you… never mind being pregnant and on your feet all day?!
I can’t even pick a favourite there is so so many special moments that you captured and we couldn’t have asked for more. It was like reliving it all over again last night and I cried more looking through them than I probably did on the day!
The video is amazing and the editing is crazy good! You’ve got such an eye and a talent for this you were obviously born to do it.
I could go on and on but I’m going to go and show my mam who is bursting to see them too. If either of us marry again you’re our girl 😉…. or perhaps when we make our family bigger. That might be a more appropriate thing to say (although Al likes the idea of doing a home shoot with the dog)
We’d like to leave you a testimonial and gush about how much of a babe you are- is your Facebook the best place for that?
Thank you so so much for the most amazing gift we could have received ( beautifully presented by the way the box was a lush touch!)
Rachael and Al xx
