Wedding Photographer | The Garden Station | Faye & Jonny

The rainy day wedding of Faye & Jonny at the The Garden Station, Northumberland

A wedding photographer in Northumberland is blessed with venues as grand as Bamburgh Castle, as pretty as Le Petit Chateau, as wild as Barn on the Bay or as completely cute as The Garden Station. I was so excited when Faye and Jonny contacted me about their wedding – because firstly, they are a really (and I’m not just saying this) lovely couple but secondly they’re also both tattoo artists, with Faye specialising in the most beautiful hand poked tattoos (and I really need to book myself in). A fab combo – lovely and rather cool ;o) I just knew that the wedding would be awesome – full of beautiful people, personal touches and loads of laughs. And I was right.

Despite the hideous rain, and I mean proper tipping down, rivers flowing off the tarp sort of rain, the wedding at The Garden Station was stunning. I just love that venue. There are little details on every level, the flowers and the greenery so lush, and I was pleasantly surprised that the weather did not ruin the ceremony – we were all safely dry under the tarp. In fact, I think it made the wedding even nicer – everyone had to pile into the station for the speeches. Yes it was cosy, but perfectly apt for bringing two families together.

Faye looked simply amazing in her two piece wedding dress – which she designed herself, plus denim jacket that she quickly hand-painted the night before the wedding when she realised it was not going to be a balmy summer’s day. Together with her bridesmaids, they were just fabulous. I just love the shots of the girls walking through the marquee – they remind me of Sex and The City – but much nicer and prettier ;o) After the beautiful ceremony and reception number one, we then headed to Tynemouth where the sun tried to finally make an appearance and we managed to grab some relaxed portraits on the beach before the night time party people arrived at the Grand Hotel.

Now for the pics – not forgetting to check out their alternative wedding video above! Thanks for sharing your lush day with me Faye & Jonny. Sorry it’s taken me so long to share it with the world. xx
