OMG we absolutely love them all!! Thank you so so much.They were SO worth the wait and everything we could have dreamt of. We will never be able to show you just how much it means to us. To keep these memories is just so so precious and you just capture everything so perfectly. The Hirst Sewell Family – Inspiration for a Family Session in Leeds
Looking for inspiration for your Unscripted Family Session? Meet the Hirst Sewell family from Adel near Leeds. Before Christmas, I spent the most amazing day with this energised, crazy and wonderful family. It’s the second time they’ve shared their day with me. The first time was a Christmas session about 4 years ago and their youngest was just a toddler then…..this time the girls were older and both were excitedly gearing up for Christmas!

So what prompted Sarah to book another Unscripted Family Session?
It was all a bit last minute actually. Sarah had seen one of our Instagram posts about ‘Time being short’ and ‘Kids just not being kids forever’ and Harriet, her youngest was growing up fast and it prompted her to get in touch and get booked in. I was so pleased that I could squeeze her in before Christmas.
WHAT A DAY – The Hirst Sewell Famalam were a team that did it ALL….
From baking to pancakes, horse riding, dancing…decorating the Christmas Tree, not to mention matching pyjamas and knee high strippy socks.
The Hirst Sewell Family are just like any other family and life is full on. On the day of the Session, Sarah was completely apologetic, concerned that she’d forgot about the kid’s riding lessons that day but I insisted I could come along and capture this part of their lives and it made for some great photos.
From 8am – 7pm, the girls were full of beans and just lush.
I love these sessions because as a mum myself, I recognise so much of family life, especially in that crazy time in the run up to Christmas… …excited kids…a bit hyped on sweets, Mum trying to minimise that sugar intake ‘stop eating the icing’..’stop eating the sweets’..’you’ll be sick’ and I smile, Ahhh we’ve all been there!
Kids will be kids, Hey kids should be kids!
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million!
Sarah told me that the kids just love love love the video – they can’t get enough of watching themselves.
My Smile Moments
For me….Soooo many fab memories from the day but here’s my top 3 smile moments
Those candy cane stripy socks, it’s just so them.
The decorating the newly selected Christmas Tree whilst Sarah shares lovely memories with the girls. Every decoration has a story and Sarah lovingly shares these with the girls.
Ahh decorating the gingerbread house and not getting the icing sugar consistency quite the right and the mess that followed.
Let’s hear it for GENUINE #MakingMemories !!
Your Family session can be as full on as you want it to be. In fact a chilled out nothing day with bored kids can produce equally amazing photos.
