Spending time with Mhairi and Polly is always a complete honour. They’re so much fun. Polly is simply gorgeous – a complete princess but with no attitude (although I’m sure her Mum might tell you otherwise when she has her moments). Their home is beautiful and covered in family photographs – which makes me very happy. And the fact that I’ve photographed them not once, but twice, and soon to be three times, just makes me all gooey inside.
Because I know that Mhairi REALLY treasures these photos.
I just love these Mummy & Me sessions. Mhairi’s one here was 3 hours long (hence I couldn’t whittle down the images to any less that 80!!!! Whoa). But it amazes me, when I come away from a session, how many little moments there are in just three hours. Even an hour to be honest. Apart from the storytelling moments, the scene setters, it’s the moments of love and laughter, bonds growing, memory making moments. And not forgetting the details that will take you back in twenty years time. Those little feet, the hands on Mummy’s arm, the reassuring looks, the curly locks. All those little things that us Mums will really miss when they’re gone.
But it was really just a standard morning, playing, breakfast, walk to the shop and the park – but my God are the photos pretty. What’s funny is that if I hadn’t taken photos that morning, this would TOTALLY be a morning that would have been forgotten because it was just pretty standard. But yet, JUST look how beautiful the moments are between the two of them!!!!
So Dads and Mums. Either drop some hints, or Mums just do it for yourself. Buy a Mummy & Me Session. Either this Mother’s Day or just for fun. But make sure you do capture your Motherhood – you’re just as important. But please don’t put it off. Get in the photos too.
