From the day Barn on the Bay announced their first open day, after checking out the situation and set up, and I met Ali I was literally biting at the bit to shoot a wedding there. I’ve said it all along, if Andy and I were to do it all again, that’s where we would get married. You can turn a one day event into a whole weekend party. With camping, the beach, festival vibes, the most beautiful barn for most awesome of parties, vows by the sea. And even Alpacas and their strange routines to keep you entertained. Oh – and it’s also a real-life working farm – so there’s tractors and everything! It’s literally the full package.
I met Lucy and Johan at one of Barn on the Bay’s wedding fairs. It was a lush event bringing together some of the Northeast’s most loveliest of alternative suppliers. Lucy and Johan clearly had good taste and foresight to attend and then book me for their Barn on the Bay Wedding Photography and Video!
So they got all booked up, we all got excited. And then bloody COVID hit. And the wedding I was soooooooo looking forward to got postponed. Fast forward a year and we finally made it. Emotions running high. Excitement brewing. And it was allllll sooooooo worth it.
Lucy and Johan’s wedding was full to the brim with bright colours. Happy faces. Quirky guests. Awesome music. Party atmosphere. Sentimental speeches. Weird party games. Sunny weather. And the happiest bride EVER. I mean – look below – I don’t think she stopped smiling. And it’s likely Lucy’s face may be stuck like this forever like some strange Joker incident in Batman as I’m pretty sure she’s still living on a high from her awesome day.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, 2021 is going to be a tough one to beat for Epic Weddings. And Lucy and Johan – yours is up there! Thank you so much for letting me be part of it. xx
