What is a dad?
A Dad is a person
Who is loving and kind,
And often he knows
What you have on your mind.
He’s someone who listens,
suggests, and defends
A dad can be one
of your very best friends;
He’s proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient
and helpful and strong.
In all that you do,
a dad love plays a part
There;s always a place for him
deep in your heart
And each year that passes,
you’re even more glad,
More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad;
Thank you Dad…
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you;

I have been so fortunate to see first hand how wonderful fathers can be.
I think there is something that pulls at the heartstrings of most women when they see a grown man with their children. There’s a bond that’s like no other. And the way children look into their Daddy’s eyes – it melts your heart. I have also witnessed Dads absolutely captivated by their little ones. The love that oozes from them is indescribable and so beautiful. I feel so privileged to be welcomed into people’s homes to witness these wonderful moments But I feel even more lucky that I get to deliver images and films to families to help them remember these precious moments.
Now I reflect on my own childhood, I remember how much I used to look up to my own father. And you know what, although I’m sure every child goes through a know-it-all, I-don’t-need-you phase, I really appreciate all that my Dad did for me and my family. And still to this day, my Dad amazes me . . . but, he is going slightly potty in his old age – there’s definitely a bit more dust between the ears now. But he’s as solid as a rock, always there when you need him and quite frankly the BEST Grandfather EVER!
Here are a few of my favourite Daddy images that I have captured over the last 9 months, since I launched Unscripted Photography. Starting with one of my personal favourites of my Dad with his little Grandson Harry. Enjoy. And Happy Father’s Day.

Lastly, as if he’s reading this, he probably thinks I have forgotten to mention, my own husband, and wonderful father to our little harry. Andy works so hard, doing a job that he honestly doesn’t really want to do, to support his family. He comes home knackered most nights, but still rustles up the energy to make Harry laugh – what goes on at bathtime is beyond me, but there is a whole lotta noise coming from upstairs and Harry is squealing in delight. Not only does he bring home the bacon, but he is extremely handy around the house and he is so supportive when it comes to me and my little photography business. Oh, plus, did I mention, I love him, a lot! He’s my best friend before he’s my husband. Although I’m also sometimes too tired to even hold a conversation or too busy to pay him attention (I do feel bad about that) – I hope he knows how much he means to me. Happy Father’s Day petal. You really are a super Dad – never doubt that. And Harry loves you, more than you’ll ever know.
