Thank you Claire for the beautiful photos, we’ve spent a very happy evening going through them and finding a new favourite each time. You have amazing talent for capturing the people you photograph and the tiny details that bring back all the happy memories xx– Rosie
Family Wedding Documentary Photographer Newark, Nottinghamshire featuring Newark Registry office and a DIY garden wedding reception.
I first met Rosie and Gavin when I spent a lush, UBER sunny Sunday morning with them back in 2016. They invited me over to their GORGEOUS home in Nottinghamshire to capture some family frolics in the garden. I know I say this a lot, but they really are such lovely people. Honestly – and their littles ones: DIVINE!
So . . . you can imagine my excitement when they invited me back to capture their wedding day!
During their family photography session, they had told me about their upcoming nuptials and that the garden would play host to the reception. Now, they had a lovely garden, lovely landscaping, pretty plants, their gorgeous home as a backdrop – as you can see from the photos from their family photography session <<<click on that link to check out their session. But I couldn’t necessarily envisage the space being used for a wedding marquee and reception.
But, OHHHHH EMMMMMM GEEEEEE!!!! When I returned a year later, I was literally BLOWN AWAY.
The garden had been transformed. Bar, marquee, the most gorgeous selection of flowers, bouncy castle, little details everywhere you looked, buckets of sweets, jars of pimms, bunting, twinkle lights – the works. I was gobsmacked. Rosie and Gavin had put soooooo much hard work into this day. Really. I’m pretty sure Rosie didn’t sleep for a few weeks before the BigDay because it was PERFECT!!!! My hats off to you guys.
In addition to that. Rosie and Gavin had chosen Newark Registry office for their ceremony, and I must say, as registry offices go, it’s rather lovely. And set in the grounds of Newark Castle, so ideal for a few snaps after.
PLUS Rosie and the children looked absolutely gorgeous all dolled up and even Gavin looked smart too ;o) And their guests were so much fun, they had me laughing from the moment I started snapping.
So here is a selection of some of my favourite images from their BigDay. Wish I could include them all . . . but can’t!
I also have to say thank you to Rosie and Gavin for trusting me with their special occasion. As when they booked me, they hadn’t seen any wedding photographs. I think I had only shot one wedding at that point. So thank you for putting your faith in me. And I truly hope you’ll have be back again some day. Big Love to you all xxx
